This is the first episode of my food show for Siren FM. Each week I aim to find out about cafes and restaurants and find out about the stories behind these places and the people running them. Along the way I will also be trying out some recipes and silly feature ideas too.
In this week’s programme I meet up with the owner of Thomas 2, Sarah Thomas, who talks about what it is like to run her own cafe. Also as we countdown to the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee I’ve noticed the amount of food packaging with celebratory pictures and puns. I went to my local supermarket to count the number of Jubilee themed food products.

The cafe started off as a family run place and now Sarah Thomas runs the establishment. I met up with her at the cafe to talk about how she comes up with her menu ideas as well as the importance of using local ingredients.

Gary Barlow is planning a concert in the Queen’s honour, but supermarkets are also celebrating the occasion in their own way. A number of food products either have special names or flavours to tie in with the Diamond Jubilee. To find out more I went round my local supermarket with Jonathan Cresswell.
